Legend has it that a kindhearted innkeeper, famous for her hospitality, would serve meals to weary travelers and town folks alike. But what made her truly unforgettable was what happened after the meals were finished.

🍳 The Origin of “Lickskillet”

After serving hearty, home-cooked meals, the innkeeper had a rather unconventional way of cleaning up—she would set the used skillets and plates outside, where the local dogs and cats would happily lick them clean! 🐶🐾

This simple yet charming tradition became so well-known that the area became nicknamed Lickskillet.
